Our chicks are hatched on Colorado’s Western Slope and brought to Gunnison as day-old hatchlings. We feed non-GMO chick starter and broiler feed, sourced on the Western Slope, from hatch to harvest. Our birds thrive at altitude, eating clover and green grass on our farm in Gunnison.
We offer two breeds of chicken for 2017:
Mile High chickens have large, thick legs and a very wide and deep breast. Raised on pasture, these broilers have been fed non-GMO feed for a tender, juicy, classic chicken flavor.
Colorado Gold chickens are bred for gourmet flavor, derived from French “Label Rouge” culinary birds brought to the U.S. in 2011. Our birds have been raised on pasture and fed non-GMO feed. for tender, succulent meat with more yellow omega 3 fat and less saturated fat than faster growing breeds.
